About the forum

The European MedTech Forum is the largest health and medical technology industry conference in Europe. Organised by MedTech Europe's alliance members Eucomed and EDMA, the seventh edition of the MedTech Forum will take place on 15-17 October 2014 at the Dolce La Hulpe, Brussels.

Last year the conference brought together more than 500 participants active in the EU healthcare scene, including policymakers, scientific communities, patients' representatives, healthcare professionals, academics and representatives of the global medtech industry.

This year's edition will revolve around the theme "More needs. Higher expectations. Smaller budgets. Can the European MedTech Industry deliver?"

More needs. Higher expectations. Smaller budgets.

The European MedTech industry is facing a broad range of challenges which will impact the way our industry works.  Austerity across Europe is continuing to impact healthcare budgets which keep growing smaller. Against this backdrop of shrinking budgets payers, patients, and healthcare systems have higher expectations and needs which they expect industry to meet.

Can the European MedTech Industry deliver?

With the MedTech industry facing these crucial challenges this year’s Forum will address the key question - can the MedTech industry deliver? For medtech to fulfil its potential and prove its value to patients, payers, and society manufacturing technologies is not enough, companies must deliver technology and systems which can help healthcare systems become more efficient and cost effective and can continue to empower and benefit patients.
